Nancy has developed essential skills in dance education and works with dance artists and public school staff, teachers, and human resource professionals in order to bring a variety of high quality dance/movement education experiences and tools to schools, communities and businesses.

Professional teacher, choreographer, workshop leader, performer

• 30+ years of professional dance experience as teacher, choreographer, performer and dance education consultant
• Teaching experience includes K-16 educational settings including special needs classrooms, professional development workshops for teachers, team-building workshops and seminars for boards of directors and staff, private studio teaching and workshops for pre-K children, elders, and people with disabilities or special needs
• Performed with modern dance companies in New York City, Texas, Missouri, and France and in venues throughout Maine
• Directs and choreographs for high school and community theater productions
• Teaches dance in a regional gifted/ talented program
• Choreographs and performs with New Dance Studio Dancers and others

Program development, strategic planning, consulting

• Developed Partners in Arts and Learning (PAL), a statewide arts education grant program for the Maine Arts Commission
• Developed Early stARTS, a statewide arts education grant program for chirdern pre-K - seven, in collaboration with Marcia Lovell at the Maine Department of Health & Human Services and the Maine Arts Commission
• Co-authored of the Maine Dance Curriculum Guide
• Developed K-12 curricula in theater and in dance for Yarmouth School Department
• Consults with after-school programs Registrar
• Advises pre-professional and professional dance students as Registrar of the Bates Dance Festival
